We've tried to do some special things with the kids recently to give them some fun memories to think about when they are feeling a little neglected after the new baby's here. Due to Trent's perseverance, our backyard playhouse (which was such a bigger project than we ever realized) is finally habitable, and we celebrated by camping out in it. (Well, I played the pregnancy card and volunteered Trent and the kids to try it out.)
The playhouse from the outside. Still some finishing touches to be done, but we're calling it good for now.
First, they dragged all the mattresses out (the luxury of backyard camping), and watched a movie on Trent's laptop. Trent was dead tired from working late the night before, but the kids were so excited/tired/distracted, it took forever for them to get to sleep, and we almost abandoned the whole idea. But then they settled down, and of course, wanted to do it again the next night.
That is so cute! What a great little playhouse they have thanks to all that hard work you guys put into it. I bet it was nice to get the house all to yourself too!
ReplyDeleteWhere were the bag of treats for the campout? Did I miss them?
ReplyDeleteGrandma Wyona is planning many campouts this summer -- beginning with setting up a tent at the beach she tells me.
And isn't there already a 3 person tent there at Lot 7, stored away somewhere? Should be a lot of fun in the years to come, everyone excited about camping!

Great fun! Did Trent head down into the mine once the kids fell asleep? Nice head lamp Trent!
